sacar rcit (2)

RCITTM is our proprietary and trademarked technique to treat all types of scars. It comprises various treatment modalities that are tailored to each individual according to scar type, size and severity. Treatments used include

  • Skin Resurfacing Laser
  • Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP)
  • Microneedling
  • PDO thread
  • Intradermal injection
  • Subcision
  • Fat graft

RCIT

Our RCITTM is effective because of the variety of treatment modalities we have at our disposal and our doctors’ experience - their knowledge in dealing with fresh wounds and the anticipation of results.

There are primarily 3 types of scars:

  1. Atrophic scars

These are sunken scars such as boxcar, ice pick and rolling scars, usually resulted from acne or chicken pox infection.

  1. Hypertrophic scars

These are raised scars within the boundary of the wound and can be resulted from surgery or injury.

  1. Keloids

These are large, raised scars beyond the boundary of the original wound and can be resulted from a BCG jab, surgery or injury. They are often found on the earlobe, chest and shoulder areas.

Scar 1

RCITTM can be applied on any face or body areas with:

  • Raised scars (hypertrophic scars or keloids)
  • Sunken scars (atrophic scars)
  • Stretch marks
  • Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks

The number of treatment sessions required is dependent upon the severity of the scar. It can take anywhere from 1 month (for a small raised scar) to 2 years (for large sunken scars). The RCITTM treatment duration depends on the doctor’s decision and justification.

When a client signs up for our RCITTM programme, our doctors perform a combination of treatments with special skills and techniques to achieve the best scar healing result. Instead of charging per session, we would go by monthly duration that may include twice weekly treatments. Hence the client is paying for the total duration required for us to improve his/ her scars to the maximum degree without overrunning the client’s budget.

After RCITTM treatment, sun protection is mandatory and the client is advised to avoid extreme sun exposure for around 2 weeks. It is also recommended for the client to use MediGlow post treatment skincare products to achieve better healing and results. Good hydration to the skin with moisturizing products such as skin care products or facial masks will result in a better outcome.

Over-the-counter scar removal creams have limitations as topical treatments can only penetrate the superficial layer of the skin. They may work for shallow and superficial scars but generally scar removal creams can only achieve around 10% improvement for the scar, and rarely up to 30% improvement. RCITTM targets the deeper layer of the skin, therefore it can yield better results.

Our clients are amazed with the improvement on their scar even after only one session. They feel it is value for money as we do not charge by how much it costs per session or per treatment type, and our doctors would perform a few treatments to achieving the best result for a single scar.
