Rhinoplasty (Nose Job)

Rhinoplasty or what is known as a nosejob is a surgical procedure that reshapes the nose for a harmonious symmetry whilst addressing functional issues where applicable.

Rhinoplasty offers the most significant change to a patient's facial features as the nose is the most prominent part of a person's face.

We offer both surgical methods and non-surgical methods to beautify the nose at GEM CLINIC.

Who should consider Rhinoplasty procedure?

Some common reason for individuals to undergo Rhinoplasty procedure:

Nose Bridge is too low or wide
Nose Radix has a hump
Nose Tip is too low or protruded
Nose Tip is rounded and enlarged
Nostril are too wide or rounded
Deformed nose caused by injuries and accidents
Dislike their bulbous tip
To enhance confident with good appearance

Our clients have loved the outcome of their plastic surgery and treatment here with us. They walk out more confidently and beaming with a smile, admiring their new nose shape as they walk pass a mirror.

There are 2 types of minimally-invasive non-surgical methods

Nose Filler

Quick & cost effective with little to no downtime. The main ingredient in fillers are biodegradable Hyaluronic Acid (HA). In GEM CLINIC we use a combination of soft and firm fillers to augment the nose bridge and to camouflage nasal humps while also raising the nose tip slightly for a 3D effect. However, there is a limit to what is achievable with nose fillers and it should be used with caution and moderation.

Nose Threads

Cog threads are inserted into the nose to augment and lift the nose.

In GEM CLINIC, we generally do not advocate the use of threads in the nose due to long term complications such as scarring, widening of the nose bridge as well as thread protrusions at nasal tip.

There are 2 main approaches. It is important to choose an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon as every single nose differs in shape, size and structure. No two rhinoplasty surgeries are the same.

Closed Rhinoplasty (with silicone implant)

This is the most common Rhinoplasty approach in Malaysia as it is simple with a shorter surgical duration. A small incision is made inside the nostril and a silicone implant is inserted to increase the height of the tip, radix and bridge. The whole procedure is done via the small incision opening.

Open Rhinoplasty

Open structured rhinoplasty (OSR) is the ideal rhinoplasty method as it offers the surgeon full access to the internal structures of the nose. OSR requires an experienced surgeon as it is a complex surgical procedure. In OSR, an incision is made across the columella and the skin is raised to reveal all nose bone and cartilages. Removal and reshaping of all structures is done under direct vision which is critical as this is a surgery of millimeters. Bony contouring, cartilage reshaping with addition of grafts are performed based on the patient’s concerns and expectations. OSR is recommended in complex revision rhinoplasty cases.

Yes. Depending on the reason for getting a rhinoplasty, this procedure can help with breathing problems, injuries and also has a tremendous impact on overall facial harmony.

There are two types of rhinoplasty which are open and closed rhinoplasty. Closed rhinoplasty is a minor surgery in which a smaller incision is required to insert an implant and has shorter recovery time. On the other hand, open rhinoplasty is major surgery as it involves opening up the nose. Both surgeries requires highly technical skill sets of a surgeon.

The results are permanent, though you will see some subtle changes to your nose over time.

The cost varies depending on the concern and complexity of the procedure. A closed rhinoplasty can start at RM6800.

The average recovery period is typically 7 to 10 days, but it always depends on the individual and the type of rhinoplasty procedure done.
